Aaron Miller, Double Bass

Aaron Miller (M.M. Jazz Performance and Pedagogy, University of Colorado) directs the Double Bass studio and assists in the Jazz Studies program at BYU Idaho. An Idaho native, Aaron has experience in many musical and educational settings. Miller's students have received regional and national recognition including the Downbeat student music award in 2008. He has served as an adjudicator and clinician at festivals including the Gene Harris jazz festival. Miller has performed in various professional musical productions including the second national tour of The Producers. He has also played with the McCall Chamber Orchestra, the Sun Valley Caritas Chorale, and the Niwot Timberline Symphony. Miller has performed professionally with many jazz greats as well as nationally known artists including: Brent Jensen; Mark Levine; Art Lande; Vic Juris; Bill Mays; Michele Weir; Corey Christiansen; and Marvin Stamm. Aaron has studied with Art Lande, John Davis, Brent Jensen, Paul Erhard and Jack Koncel. Miller toured professionally with the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 2004.
