52nd Season RED LODGE MUSIC FESTIVAL June 6-14, 2015

PAYMENT: Fees are to be paid by May 30, 2015. The $20 registration fee is non-refundable. If registration is cancelled after May 25th, the $50 room deposit cannot be refunded. No refunds made after camp begins. Please send any balance due to:

PARENT MEETING: Saturday, June 6, Noon - Optional parent orientation – Mountain View Elementary School commons area.

REGISTRATION: Saturday, June 6, 1:00-3:00 pm, Mountain View Elementary School cafeteria. (311 S. Oakes Ave.)

AUDITIONS: Saturday, June 6 from 2:00-4:00 pm, following registration.  Students will sign up for a time on the door of their audition room. Students are to prepare a short piece of solo literature (need not be memorized).  Audition materials for all instruments will be posted on the internet in the spring of 2015 at www.redlodgemusicfestival.org.  Orchestra and wind ensemble seating will be done by the respective directors at scheduled rehearsal times.

SUPERVISION: Students are supervised during the week by adult counselors who are present at meals, at housing units, recitals, and large ensemble rehearsals.

HOUSING: ALL STUDENTS WILL CHECK INTO HOUSING UNITS THROUGH THE COUNSELORS after 2:00. 
Girls will check in at the Lupine Inn, boys at the Chateau Rouge. 
At the Chateau Rouge no dishes or cookware will be provided. 
Refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, coffee pots, and toasters will be available. 
Please do not check into the motels before completing on-site registration.

MEALS:
Breakfast 8:00 a.m.
Lunch 12:00 p.m.
Dinner 5:15 p.m.

Meals, except for Festival picnic, will be served in the middle school cafeteria. The first meal is Saturday, June 6 at 5:15 pm. The final meal will be Sunday, June 14 at noon.

BRING:
      FOLDING MUSIC STAND, instrument, strings, reeds, etc. 
      Rockstops for all cello and bass students. 
      Pencils, notebook. 
      Any solo or ensemble literature you may wish to study. 
      Personal toilet articles. Girls please bring extra wash cloths for
      make-up removal.
      Alarm clocks
      Bicycles, if desired, with reliable lock.

CLOTHING: Casual clothing may be worn to classes and rehearsals.
Please wear nice slacks or dresses – no jeans, shorts, or t-shirts at concerts.
Bring enough dress clothes to attend 5 faculty recitals and your student concerts.
Bring warm coats and sweaters. The weather in Red Lodge is unpredictable.
Bring swim suits if you wish to use the pool.

Student Concert Dress:
 Thursday, Friday, and Sunday
      Girls: Long or short dresses or pants outfits--nothing above the knee.
      Boys: Dark slacks, dress shirt with tie.

PRIVATE LESSONS: May be arranged by the student with individual instructors upon arrival at Festival.
Fees are $20.00 per half hour, payable to the instructor.

TRANSPORTATION: Students arriving in Billings by bus or airlines, may arrange for transportation to Red Lodge. Please make arrangements at least one week prior to arriving.

Students are not allowed, at any time, to ride in vehicles other than with camp staff or their own parents/guardians. Parents/guardians may designate, in writing before the camp's opening day, another person to transport the student to or from camp.

STUDENT ILLNESS: If you are ill, contact your counselor immediately. Medical expenses because of illness or accident are the student's responsibility. If you are too ill to attend a recital, you will not be allowed to leave your room for other activities that evening.

DISCIPLINE: All discipline problems will be addressed immediately by the counseling staff or Festival Director. If a student is sent home, or leaves the camp early, no refund of fees will be made.

Red Lodge Music Festival curfew times are in accordance with the town of Red Lodge curfew statutes.

Curfew is enforced nightly by the Red Lodge police department.

REMINDERS:

Students must attend all scheduled classes and concerts and remain in attendance for the entire concert.
CELL PHONES - off and put away during rehearsals.  Do NOT bring to evening recitals.
No boys in any girls' rooms ever -- vice versa.
No riding in unauthorized vehicles – except for own parents or staff vehicles.
No driving of a motor vehicle while at the Festival.
Students may use bicycles for transportation while attending camp.
No smoking or use of tobacco at any time, regardless of age.
No alcoholic beverages or drugs at any time.  (Montana law)
Common sense room care at all times.  Careless damage will be equally assessed to room occupants.
Any accidental damage should be reported promptly to your counselor.
Discipline problems will be addressed immediately by counselors or the Festival Director.
Dress at concerts is a matter of respect.  No jeans, shorts, or t-shirts, please.
Financial aid students will be at all assigned duty stations on time.
Civic Center balcony is closed for evening concerts.

EARLY RELEASE: Parents/guardians wishing to have their child released early from camp, before the final performance on Sunday, June 14, please fill out the early release form (click here) and return before the beginning camp date, June 6, 2014.
