About the Festival

Dear Music Student . . .

If you have just finished the seventh grade, are just graduating from high school, or are somewhere in between, you may attend the 60th Annual Red Lodge Music Festival this summer. And when you come to Red Lodge June 14-22, you will experience a unique blend of music performance and fun!

With the backdrop of the stunning Beartooth Mountains, you will enjoy recreational activities such as ball games, scavenger hunt, and dancing. Most of all, you’ll be involved in musical performances, including chamber music and larger ensembles such as band, orchestra, and jazz band.

Your teachers will be some of the most talented performers from universities, colleges, and symphony orchestras across the nation. They are selected for their ability to teach and share with you their musical skills, which you will hear over five evening recitals. Year after year, students leave the Festival praising the faculty!

Something very special happens as the week progresses. While you get together with students and faculty to make music, you will make friends from Montana and many other states, all while developing greater skills in musical performance. Your nine days at the Red Lodge Music Festival will be an experience we hope you’ll cherish as a happy memory.
